Garry's Mod and Mount&Blade: Warband.

Garry's Mod runs on the Source engine which has ran on every Valve game in a way. A major video game that has ran on the source engine which took gamers by storm would be Counterstrike: Source and Half Life 2 and a mass amount of other games that Valve has created. So.. if you wish to play and build on it you need to make sure that your computers hardware can run it. If your computer can't, I'd highly recommend getting a system update for playing Garry's Mod. It is a great game where you can do literally.. anything.

This delightful game is Garry's Mod. You can literally do anything you think of doing, you want to make a giant robot with jetpack thrusters made of cardboard? You can do it. Want to make a bathtub fighter plane? You can do it. Garry Newman created Garry's Mod in 2004 on 24th of December, which sold massively among Half Life 2 fans as you could edit and do anything you wanted. Now at 2012 at 30th of December it surpassed over 2,000,000 sales  after 8 years of being on the market at the massive gaming software Steam.
The only downside of this if you wish to buy a game once and play it forever, this isn't the case. You need Valve games as Garry's Mod is strictly ran on Valve games such as Left 4 Dead, Half Life and Half Life 2, Counterstrike: Source, etc. If you don't have these games, you will be seeing  giant Errors in red signs instead of seeing mateirals that are being spawned by players and you alike within games such as this big ERROR screen. These can be massively annoying specially when a player, yourself or a friend has built a massive house or something and most of the materials will be saw as error.
Within Garry's Mod you can download addons which puts that certain addon into the game files then you can upload them into the game, within this picture theres a bunch of tanks and 7 helicopters with a sword from the Halo series. Some of these addons run from source games which Garry's Mod specifically runs on such as some game modes, characters, NPCs or weapons are run on Counterstrike: Source for example, if you don't
and you downloaded it you will see the same errors as the image above, which can be massively annoying, so you're most likely better downloading and buying all the Source games that Garry's Mod runs.

Yes..Yes.. That is a dinosaur.
The magnificience of Garry's Mod is unique, there is little to none games that are related to it. You can pretty much do literally ANYTHING you want by thinking of it, you think of it and you can try to build it. It's massive with endless materials and creations.

Within Garry's Mod there are different game types varying from DarkRP servers which you roleplay a job such as a gun dealer, police officer, etc. Most of these servers are serious RP's and if you do something wrong such as randomly shoot somebody in the face, you will be banned. Different modes on Garry's Mod are like Sandbox, where you have every tool available, fly around, build anything you want, etc. Another example of Garry's Mod servers would be Trouble in Terrorist Town. There is a certain group of players such as 16 players in one game, one or two people are classed as a traitor which has to kill all the other players without being detected, others are innocent and others are detectives who try to find out who are the traitors.

This video above is a perfect gaming example of Garry's Mods DarkRP servers. The server is called D3vine on the map City 18. It features a squad of Civil Protection (Police) raiding an apartment for drugs and other illegal activities. At the near end of the video you can realise how annoying the ERROR message is as held above the person doing the video.

Another video above shows the rules of the D3vine Dark RP server the right from wrong and how to correct it, etc. For example, you aren't allowed to prop climb, this means having a door or another prop on the floor and using your physics gun to climb somewhere or to climb up a building, etc. Another example of the rules within this game server would be you cannot random RDM. (Random Death Match) where you run up to somebody and randomly kill them without roleplay relation, this is strictly prohibited within the servers.

This game is great if you like sandbox medieval games where you can kill people with axes, crossbows, throwing axes, javelins, everything you can think of. This game is Mount&Blade: Warband, the sequal to the first one which this one expands the entire game massively. Warband increases the political options you can take, allowing players to start their own faction and hire Lords to join their faction, Warband also has multiplayer modes such as capture the castle, team deathmatch etc. Reviews of the game were massively favourable with their new addition to multplayer which got most of the praise.

This game won many awards such as a nomination for the 'Best Indie Game of the Year' which for a small-time Gaming Company from Turkey TaleWorlds could hope to achieve. The new game, Warband expands the first game and re-organises the entire map, the game has improved graphics along with new and altered animations within combat. Warband has six current factions, which are the Kingdom of Nords, Kingdom of Vaegirs, Kingdom of Swadia, Kingdom of Rhodoks, Khergit Khanite and the new faction Sarranid Sultanate. All these factions have their own economy, unit types and overall civilization type.
This video shows a multiplayer battle. The person recording is playing as the Sarranid Mamluk class which is the Sarranid Sultanate heavy cavalry, one, if not the best of the best cavalry units in the entire game. Some people describe this class as "Overpowered."

The Kingdom of Nords represent the Northern Europeans such as the Danish, Swedish and the Finnish. Their lords are called Jarls and they have no cavalry, they have without any doubt the best infantry and decent archers. They are frequently at war with the Swadians and Vaegirs. The terrain of the Nords is near the coastline, which have constant rivers and lakes and hills, this gives the Nords massive advantage against cavalry and overall every unit against others. They are the best in siege attacks and defences.

The Kingdom of Vaegirs have a somewhat balanced army, their lords are called Boyars and they represent the Eastern European countries such as Russia. They have the best archers in the game when it comes to accuracy, their cavalry are well armoured and their infantry are hardy. They are constantly at war with the Khergits and the Nords, sometimes the Swadians. The Kingdom of Vaegirs terrain is mostly snow and hills, which gives them a decent terrain  advantage against other unit factions. The Vaegirs are decent at siege and defences, but the Nords can tackle them easily.

The Kingdom of Swadians represent the Holy Roman Empire civilisation, their Lords are called Counts and they have the best Cavalry on-par with the Sarranids. Their crossbowmen are average and their infantry are decent, the strength in the Swadians belong in their cavalry as their infantry can't back them up as much. The terrain in the Swadian Kingdom is flatland, which gives their cavalry massive advantage to mow down enemy units. Swadians are hardly at Sieges and Defences and can hold, specially their Swadian Knights.
The Kingdom of Rhodoks were with the Swadian Kingdom but they revolted against them and created their own faction. They have the best crossbowmen in the entire game when  it comes to damage, melee and their armour. Their infantry are hardly and equiped with spears to tackle enemy cavalry, making them a danger to cavalry-dependant war parties. The Rhodok terrain are hills, which give them a massive advantage against cavalry.

The Sarranid Sultante are the new faction in Mount&Blade: Warband. They have the best cavalry on par with the Swadian Knights, possibly much better. They have one of the weakest infantry but they are all equiped with ranged weapons so that's a possibly advantage. They have one of the best archer units in the entire game as they can overpower mass amounts of units in large numbers with high casualties. Their terrain is the desert, which gives them an advantage as it's most likely flat land so their archers and their knights can make short work of enemy units. Their lords are called Emirs and their kingdom civilisation represents the Saracen

This video above shows a person starting out in Mount&Blade: Warband. Showing different scenes such as traveling on the map, fighting in the arena for money and fighting common bandits to keep everyone safe.
